Today ALEXEY ROZANOV, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, Chair of the Interdepartmental Stratigraphic Committee of Russia and President of the Paleontological Society, celebrates his 88th birthday!
The double mathematical symbol of potential infinity really represents the scale of his personality and inquisitive thoughts, for which there are no barriers either in time or in space.

Alexey Rozanov is known throughout the world as an outstanding scientist and innovator in the field of paleontology, paleobiology, the origin and evolution of the organic world. Thanks to his innate curiosity, desire to understand little-studied aspects of the history of our planet, skilful involvement of both mature and young professionals in scientific issues, new scientific directions arose and strengthened in geology: astrobiology, paleontology of extraterrestrial features, bacterial paleontology and others.
Workmanship, deep concern for the future of domestic fundamental science and education, support and direct participation in solving puzzling or non-standard issues, talent for foresight, wisdom, benevolence, and a sense of humour have earned undeniable authority and the deepest respect.
We sincerely wish Dr. Rozanov good health, prosperity, successful implementation of his plans, and new achievements!
