Regional geochemistry, hydrogeology and hydrochemistry

Regional geochemical, hydrogeological, and hydrochemical studies are a crucial direction of geological mapping. Analytical geochemical and hydrochemical works are the most important source of information when compiling maps of mineral resources, their distribution and forecasts, environmental and geological charts, maps of bottom lithology. Compiling the advanced geochemical materials and a scheme of geochemical knowledge is a mandatory methodological requirement for GK-1000/3 and GK-200/2. Geochemical and radiogeochemical studies are also part of research projects (including international ones) performed by the Karpinsky Institute in cooperation with geological surveys of the world. Regional geochemical, hydrogeological, and hydrogeochemical studies are carried out by the Regional Geochemistry Department.
