‘Such a large-scale scientific and educational event is held for the first time in the Northern Capital and emphasises the special importance of the sphere of geology and mineral management in our country. Russia, possessing a huge territory and the richest mineral potential, cannot but have an advanced, up-to-date geological industry. After all, the further growth of the Russian economy, strengthening of industrial production and resource sovereignty of the country largely depend on its state. Creation of a serious staff pool, attraction of young specialists is one of the most urgent issues of the national geology. It is important that the GEOFEST-2024 festival is a platform for discussing these and other topical issues, a place for meetings of industry representatives from Russia and a number of foreign countries, and also helps popularise the profession of geologist and mining engineer’.
