In the 2025 field season, the Karpinsky Institute will form more than 40 field parties and engage more than 400 specialists and workers. Training in all-terrain vehicle driving is currently being organized for employees of field units, and training is also planned for the operation of small vessels.
Geologists are preparing to undergo medical check-ups, encephalitis vaccination, and pass exams on occupational health and safety during geological works.
To ensure communication with field units located in remote areas of Russia, satellite airtime is being purchased. The logistics of transporting employees, gear and equipment to the site are being worked out.
This year the Karpinsky Institute will purchase 3 all-terrain vehicles to fulfil the tasks of the field season.
As always, the geography of works is very extensive: the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Khabarovsk Krai, Chukotka Autonomous District, Kamchatka Krai, Magadan Region, Amur Region, Zabaikalsky Krai, Irkutsk Region, the Republic of Tyva, the Republic of Altai, the Republic of Crimea, the Republic of Karelia, water areas of the White, Baltic and Barents Seas, Lake Baikal, etc.
As usual, geophysicists will be the first to go to the field this year. The Sergeyevskaya gravimetric party will start its work in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in mid-March. We wish our guys good luck and successful fulfilment of their tasks!
