First thesis defense in the new dissertation council of the Karpinsky Institute!

On March 27, 2025 a significant event took place in the walls of our institute - after a ten-year break the first defense in the newly created dissertation council on the speciality 1.6.10 ‘Geology, prospecting and exploration of solid minerals, minerageny’ took place.

The first doctoral candidate was Vladislav Evgenievich Guzev, who successfully defended his work:

‘Geological structure and regularities of location of ore-grade gold mineralization of the Morozkinskoye deposit (Southern Yakutia)’.

By unanimous decision of the dissertation council Vladislav was awarded the degree of Candidate of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences.

Scientific guidance was provided by Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences Anatoly Vasilievich Molchanov, Head of the Department of Metallogeny and Geology of Mineral Deposits at the Karpinsky Institute.

This is an important step not only for the Karpinsky Institute, but also for the entire geological industry! The new Council has a lot of work to do, whereas we need to raise talented scientists who are ready to study the riches of Russia's mineral resources.
