There were permanent sections on Precambrian and Paleozoic, Mesozoic, Cenozoic, Quaternary system, vertebrates, a museum section, as well as a special section dedicated to the scientific activities of T.N. Koren (on her 90th birthday).
A total of 143 papers were presented, including 127 oral and 16 poster presentations. 11 people took part remotely via video conference. The poster presentations were published on the Karpinsky Institute website. The sessions were broadcast live on the Institute's Internet channel.
M.A. Tkachenko, First Deputy Director General of the Karpinsky Institute, made a welcoming speech. Employees of the Institute presented 9 papers.
An excursion to the collections of the Russian Geological Library and a sightseeing tour to the Central Geological Research Museum named after F.N. Chernyshev were organized for the session participants.
The Proceedings of the 71st session, including abstracts of 192 papers, were published right before the event. Among the authors and co-authors of the papers are specialists from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Estonia, China, Mongolia, Serbia, Poland, Norway, Canada, and the Republic of Korea.
