In the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, participants answered questions about key events of the Great Patriotic War, heroes and historical lessons that remain relevant today. Together with the guests of the Karpinsky Institute, Sergey Boyarsky, a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Technologies and Communications, joined the event.
‘It is important to touch, remember, reflect and feel a part of a huge country, because the Victory Dictation is expanding its geography - today it is being written in space and at sea. I choose those places that are historically close to me in this city. Today I wrote it in this wonderful Karpinsky Institute’, - Sergey Boyarsky.
The Victory Dictation is a dedication to the feat, a very important conversation about the heritage that unites generations. The memory of the people who defeated Nazism is kept both in our country and far beyond its borders - this year, more than 2 million people around the world joined the campaign.
St. Petersburg, a symbol of resilience on the way to Victory, is traditionally among the key centers of the campaign. In the walls of the Russian Geological Library, where science meets history, the participants not only answered questions about the Great Patriotic War, but also visited a tour of the library and the Geological Research Museum. Volunteers and guests saw archive materials revealing how science and engineering served as a foundation for future victories.
We thank everyone who wrote the dictation! We are proud that the Karpinsky Institute, as the guardian of geological and historical knowledge, has contributed to preserving the truth about the war.
We remember! We are proud!
