Ophiolites and oceanic crust

Оne of the basic provisions of the global tectonics is that ophiolites distributed continental fold­thrust belts of different ages, are relics of pre­existing oceans. Today, almost unconditionally accepted the position of analogy mafic­-ultramafic ophiolite associations continents and mafic­ultramafic association crust modern oceans. Researchers using palinspastic reconstructions, based on information about the geological structure of the crust of the modern oceans, restoring the history of the geodynamic development of individual fold­thrust system, and as a whole – continents. The validity of this comparison in an article largely based on material in deep­water drilling oceans.
