Minerageny of the sea shelf and deep-sea zones of the Russian Far Eastern seas
For the first time the authors have made a structural and mineragenic analysis of distribution of the sea shelf and deep-sea types of solid minerals of the Russian Far Eastern seas with the use of cross-continental-oceanic systems of deep faults. On the shelf, we have delineated the Sea of Japan placer province of gold, tin and ferrous metals; the Sea of Okhotsk megaprovince of placer gold, locally platinum and chromite; the Pacific megaprovince of placer ferrous metals; the Bering Sea placer polymetallic province. In the aquatic part: The Sea of Japan phosphorite province; the barite and gas hydrates field in the Sea of Okhotsk; the volcano-active back-arc Okhotsk area and hydrothermally active area in the Bering Sea back-arc region, where a discovery of deep-sea polymetallic sulphides is probable.
Keywords: Far Eastern seas, gold, ferrous metals, deep-sea polymetallic sulphides, barite, gas hydrates, megaprovince.
