On category Р₃ forecast resources and their conversion to category С_{2

The author discusses E.S. Kontar’s article “About forecast resource exploration and staging (solid minerals)” published in Regional geology and Metallogeny, 2014, No58. He presents his disagreement with the status identity of category C₂ reserves and category Р₃ forecast resources which are only inferred ones (by analogy) though they are conditioned by specific ore control factors. Numerous scientific publications of such kind are also subjective as an assessment of category Р₃ forecast resources given in them is not translated to the digital language and is only based on assumptions, though quite significant, and yet assumptions. It is impossible to ignore this fact, as Nature is so varied that no counterpart of its manifestations has been yet found even in the microcosm. That is why, the technology of converting Р₃ forecast resources to С₂ reserves will remain conditional, though it is based on statistical evidence.
