Role of combined paleohydrogeological systems in forming uranium mineralization in volcanotectonic depressions of the Central Asian mobile belt
The formation of flat-sheet sulphide-pitchblende ore deposits in layered sequences of calderas is compared with the results of activity of artesian ore-forming systems in MZKZ sedimentary basins with hydrogenic sandstone-type uranium deposits using the example of known uranium-bearing volcanic structures in the western and eastern sectors of the Central Asian mobile belt. A number of orecontrolling structures have been identified in volcanic calderas: from gentle permeable horizons and paleovalleys to steeply dipping faultfissure zones. This allows predicting major sheet ore deposits at lower levels and flanks of volcanic depressions in known ore areas and encouraging the study of new volcano-tectonic edifices.
